Autumn weddings provide a stunning and colourful backdrop for capturing unforgettable moments and making cherished memories.
With my autumn-inspired wedding tips, you can fully utilise the season’s unique allure, work alongside your photographer to create beautiful autumnal wedding photos that highlight the season's natural beauty and take advantage of stunning photo opportunities!

  1. Timing Is Everything – The ‘Golden Hour’ The ‘Golden Hour’ is more accessible in October than in any other month. The light during the golden hour is soft, flattering, and has a beautiful ethereal golden colour, creating the perfect opportunity to capture beautiful and intimate couple portraits.

  1. Incorporate Nature – Take Advantage of Your Surroundings Schedule a photo shoot in beautiful outdoor locations with your photographer. Colourful trees, carpets of leaves, and natural foliage will add warmth and texture to your photos, capturing the vibrant vibes of the season.

  1. Utilise the Seasonal Colour Palette – Seasonal Decor & Flowers Why not complement the autumnal colour palette with seasonal flowers, decorations, and favours? Vibrant reds, burnt oranges, golden yellows, and rich browns can add a pop of stunning detail and warm hues to your autumn wedding photos. It’s also possible to have a pastel vibe! Think pale oranges, apricots, peaches, and creams. Muted neutral tones with a hint of rust, rich burgundy, or a pop of darker accents are also on trend.

FINALLY: remember to relax and have fun with your wedding photos! It's worth noting that some couples feel out of their comfort zone with the idea of having their photograph taken, however, once you're in your wedding attire, with professionally applied makeup and styled hair, you may feel completely different (in a good way!).

It's important to schedule a call with your photographer ahead of time to discuss any thoughts and convey what you'd be comfortable or uncomfortable with. I encourage my couples to book a call on my Online Calendar. I also offer the option of booking a pre-wedding shoot with me at their wedding venue.

A pre-wedding shoot allows a couple to get used to me, my equipment, the way I work, and the poses they are happy with, meaning they can relax and enjoy their celebrations without having to worry about photography on the day of.
